Fairy Meadow is a NSW TrainLink railway station on the South Coast railway line. It serves the residential Wollongong suburb of Fairy Meadow. The station has two side platforms, connected by a pedestrian overbridge and level crossing. The station is served by about one train per hour for most of the time (usually a Thirroul-Port Kembla local service), with additional trains at weekday peak hours.HistoryThe station opened on 3 October 1888 as Para Meadow. In 1909 the name was changed to Balgownie and in 1956 the current name was adopted. The station underwent maintenance in early 2011. This included the resurfacing of the two platforms, new garden beds underneath the stairs and repainted exteriors.During the end of 2013, the level crossing was upgraded. Featuring newer and safer barriers, louder sound alert and resurfaced walkway over the rail.
